Celebrating Achievement at the Children’s University Graduation

By 23 July 2025No Comments

We were incredibly proud to see a group of our pupils take part in a very special graduation ceremony at the University of Worcester, celebrating their achievements through the Children’s University programme.

Held in the university’s stunning Christopher Whitehead Hall, the event gave children the opportunity to don miniature caps and gowns and receive formal recognition for their commitment to learning beyond the classroom.

This was Perry Wood’s third year participating in the Children’s University, a national scheme that encourages pupils to log hours of extracurricular learning, whether through sports, music, trips, clubs, or independent exploration. Each child attending had built up enough hours in their Children’s University passport to earn their place at the ceremony.

We were delighted to be part of this celebration, where families, teachers and university staff came together to applaud the dedication and enthusiasm of young learners.

Annabel Collins, Operations Coordinator at the University of Worcester and one of the organisers, said:

“It was lovely to welcome Perry Wood Primary School onto campus and to celebrate the children’s achievements over the last year. This was the school’s third year graduating with us here at the University of Worcester, and we’re so proud of all of the children and their dedication to learning outside the classroom to gain their awards and certificates.”

She added:

“Early aspirations influence subject choices, study habits, and engagement in school. If children understand how education connects to their interests and goals, they’re more likely to stay motivated and make decisions which keep those pathways open.”

Opportunities like this are a core part of our commitment to providing a rich and adventurous education here at Perry Wood. We want every child to see themselves as a learner for life and to feel inspired about the paths ahead. This ceremony was a fantastic way to show our pupils that their efforts are recognised and that their future really can start now.

Congratulations to all of our Perry Wood graduates, we are so proud of you!
