Weekly News Round Up

Our topic in Nursery is People Who Help Us. On Tuesday, we met Emily! Emily is our cleaner and she helps us by making sure our nursery is lovely and clean every day.  We listened really carefully and we are beginning to learn how to ask questions. In our water tray, we are doing some cleaning of our own!

Nursery children have an amazing time at Debutots at Latimer Court. They join in with grown up friends to tell exciting stories and sing songs. The children and grown-ups all end the session with big smiles on their faces.

Flossy has come to stay at Nursery for a while. The children all enjoyed meeting Flossy the rabbit. They were really gentle and caring with her.

Year 3

Year 3 have been busy painting landscapes of Worcester based on the artist George Seurat.

Year 6

A small group of Year 6 pupils worked hard at home to achieve an award that recognises their effort at healthy living. They each had to give up tempting food such as chocolate and takeaways, complete at least 30 minutes of exercise a day and avoid areas where they might inhale cigarette smoke. Well done to all of these children for stepping up to the challenge, which was set by the Kidderminster Harriers, who have been working with Year 6 children over the last six weeks.

Parent Forum

This week we held our first Parent Forum meeting. Thank you to all that attended and shared your thoughts and ideas about our school. It was lovely to discuss what is going well and what you would like to do to further develop Perry Wood. Here are some of the ideas suggested.

Please look out for further details about similar events coming up in the year, if you missed this first opportunity – we’d love to see you at our next event. We will also be announcing soon, some of the newly appointed ‘Parent Champions’ and their role. Again, if you are interested or want to know more, please let us know.
